The Bankers Association of Zambia – Annual General Meeting

The Bankers Association of Zambia (BAZ) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 17th February 2026, bringing together member banks and key stakeholders to review the sector’s progress and set priorities for the year ahead. A key outcome of the meeting was the election of a new Executive Committee to guide the Association’s work in 2026. The team comprises experienced leaders from across the banking sector, committed to advancing industry growth and supporting national development.

The newly elected office bearers are:

• Chairperson: Mr Mwindwa Siakalima – Chief Executive Officer, Stanbic Bank Zambia
• Deputy Chairperson: Ms Kapumpe Chola – Chief Executive Officer, First National Bank Zambia
• Treasurer: Dr Kudip Paliwal (PhD) – Chief Executive Officer, First Alliance Bank
• Executive Member: Mr Ngenda Nyambe – Chief Executive Officer, Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank

As the new Committee takes office, it does so at a time when the banking sector continues to play a critical role in driving financial inclusion, economic growth, and innovation. The team is expected to strengthen collaboration within the industry, support financial literacy initiatives, and contribute to building a more resilient and inclusive financial system.

With a clear mandate and renewed focus, the Association is well-positioned to build on its achievements and deliver meaningful impact in 2026.
