The 2026 Financial Literacy Week campaign was held in Eastern Province with a series of impactful pre-launch and launch activities held in Chipata and surrounding districts, marking a significant milestone in the national rollout of financial education initiatives. The NSFE All Ages Working Group, as part of its continued efforts to extend financial literacy beyond Lusaka and into underserved communities, selected Eastern Province as the official host province for this year’s Financial Literacy Week pre-launch activities and launch. This strategic choice reflected a deliberate commitment to deepen financial inclusion and ensure equitable access to financial education across the country.
The activities brought together a wide range of financial institutions, including representatives from the banking, insurance, pensions, and capital markets sectors, who actively participated in raising awareness among the people of Chipata. Through community outreach sessions, media engagements, and interactive financial education activities, stakeholders worked collaboratively to promote responsible financial behaviours, savings culture, and access to financial services. The collective presence of these institutions underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration in advancing financial literacy and empowering citizens to make informed financial decisions.
